Diana
Paradise, a portrait artist of considerable skill and talent who has
painted the rich and famous, recently relocated to Santa Barbara.
Her
portrait commissions and portfolio have included Billie Jean King, Harold
Solomon, Chris Evert, Jack Nicklaus and Santa Barbara’s own Paul Orfalea,
founder of Kinko’s.
Diana graduated from Rice University with a B.A. in history and art history; she continued her studies in design at Woodbury University in Los Angeles and was a Phi Beta Kappa in Art at Thomas Nelson College in Virginia, where she received a second college degree. Further studies have included six European museum trips.

Diana’s works have been featured and exhibited at: Saks Fifth Avenue in
Houston, The American Embassy in Rangoon, Burma, the San Antonio Junior League
Gallery, the Houston Public Library, O’Kane Gallery at the University of
Houston and Montecito Art Walk 2001. Diana’s work has also been featured in SOUTHWEST ART Magazine.
Diana paints families, children with pets and people at work or play. Her paintings appear in many private and corporate collections in such far-flung spots as New York, San Francisco, Europe, the West Indies, Mexico, Burma,
Los Angeles, Montecito, Colorado, and throughout Texas.
Diana’s large oil portrait of Kinko's International founder, Paul Orfalea, was
unveiled in Hawaii last year to honor his retirement. Diana has a show of oil
paintings of Antigua, West Indies, and her oil portraits at Tony Rose Camera
Shop, Montecito, California March 1 to April 6, 2002.
She continues to paint clients in Atlanta,
Houston, Austin, Santa Barbara as well as other locales. |
